  Despite this being a mistake on their behalf, we were spoken to rudely, waited nearly an hour for food that never came, and nearly every other time we've eaten here, at least one thing has gone wrong. We've been overcharged, waited 90 minutes for small plates of food or just completely ignored when reporting a mistake.

  First of all, I waited 20 minutes for a coffee? Second I was charged for another that I did not order and once I had stated I didn't order it, it was taken from me and I was not offered a refund or the coffee back! I then waited a further 15 minutes for food that was fairly average and overpriced for what I received.

  The amount of money they expect you to pay for their small portions and poor service is just ridiculous and I cannot recommend enough that you avoid this cafe at all costs.

  Although this is a small amount of money, we had shown proof that we'd paid the correct amount that included chips and if she'd actually gone and found our docket like she claimed, the chips would've been included because we were charged for them.

  Slow service every single time we have dined here. I have defended this Coffee Club time and time again against everyone I went with who refuse to go back due to the ridiculous waiting times, constant mistakes on orders and overpricing. However after today I will absolutely never be going back.

  50 cents extra for take away coffee. Never heard anything similar before. Nice ambience, but coffee (latte) wasn't that great.

  Overpriced is a simple way to put it. When ordering a burger that comes with chips, you don't expect the portion of chips to be the same size as the burger. It was so small, I could hold it with 1 hand and have no trouble at all. I paid $19.95 for this (added avo, basically a swipe of avo on there). I've been to several coffee clubs in NSW, most have been a wonderful experience. Charlestown's would have to be the worst. I wouldn't care to pay a high price for quality, but, it was barely par. I've been there 3 times over a period of 2 years, I don't go often due to continuous lack of standards plus, there are better establishment to dine at. Try grill'd, better priced, better quality and you won't be left with a poor excuse for a burger.

  The final straw came after I ordered one eggs benedict with bacon ($18.95) a tropical juice ($4.50) a bottle of coke no sugar ($4) and a small bowl of chips ($4). This was our exact order, repeated to the girl behind the register 3 times and repeated back to me twice. We were charged $31.45.

  First we waited 15 mins for our drinks to arrive, one of which was pineapple instead of tropical. We ignored this and waited for our food. After another 10 minutes the eggs benedict arrived, but no chips. 15 minutes went by. My partner finished his eggs benedict and still no chips. A full 50 minutes after I placed our order we finally flagged down a waitress to ask for our missing chips. She returned claiming we had not paid for any chips and asked for our receipt. I said we had not been offered a receipt and showed her the exact $31.45 paid to Coffee Club from my bank account instead. We were told to either go back up and pay for another bowl or go without.
